    Abstract:

Aspartic acid-glutamic acid copolymer has good inhibition to CaSO4 and CaCO3.In order to ensure its application security in various fields, scale inhibition mechanism of PAG was studied.X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) were used to analyze CaCO3 crystal and CaSO4 crystal with and without the scale inhibitor. And fractal dimension of CaCO3 crystal was calculated. The results show that the configuration of CaCO3 crystal lattice has been changed, the structure of CaSO4 crystallite has been broken. The main mechanisms of PAG inhibition to CaCO3 crystal and CaSO4 crystal are lattice distortion and cohesion and the following dispersion respectively.
